HEAPS OF NOTHING (Siltbreeze 2010) CD / LP

"For this second full-length effort, Naked on the Vague eschew their tantalizingly sparse duo attack for a quartet line-up, and the results are as sensational as they are sinister. While the rickety, no-wave splat found on previous efforts had its appeal, the heft of a "proper" rhythm section has only helped Naked on the Vague delve deeper into the landscape of post-punk murk. Bleak, unrepentant, withering and droll, Heaps of Nothing is a 21st century codification of the gallows wit and mesmerizing otherworldliness of (Dub Housing-era) Pere Ubu, Primitive Calculators and Lemon Kittens. Shuttling mutant urbanity from past to present, Naked on the Vague is only too eager to confirm that the Earth isn't flat. Because Heaps of Nothing is here to flatten it"- Tom Lax, Siltbreeze

CHITTY CHAT (Sacred Bones 2009) 7"

“Chitty Chat” b/w “Goodbye Dear Cliche” - Australia’s Naked on the Vague return for another two-sider of serious harsh downer vibes. Drum, synth, bass and vocal ferocity from this male/female duo that comes out sounding like a surprisingly more danceable version of Whitehouse. Fans of last year’s Skulltones 7-inch and Siltbreeze full-length won’t be disappointed. The band will be touring the US with Blank Dogs and will appear at this year’s Sacred Bones showcase at SXSW'- Sacred Bones

REVIEWS

THE BLOOD PRESSURE SESSIONS (DualPlover 2007/ Siltbreeze 2008) CD/ LP

“The band's take on post-punk is familiar but also tight and contemporary” -Pitchfork

“The Blood Pressure Sessions is a gorgeous, disconcerting event that grows deeper and more addicting with each listen” -Skyscraper magazine

“Blood Pressure Sessions hits the spot just so… the album indeed is a thing of dark primitive beauty” -Brian Turner, WFMU radio

MICKEY MOUSE HEADACHE TAPES (Near Tapes 2009) C30 cassette/ CDR

"A live collage by apocalyptic pop duo Naked on the Vague. Mostly bits and pieces of live recordings made whilst on their recent 3 month mega tour of the good ol' USA March-June 2008. It also features some sections from a show recorded in Canberra Australia sometime mid 2007. C-30 cassette, 2 long tracks, meshed 'scary' music more on the industrial/psych side of the NOTV brain, perfect for goth art students films, and late night drives through the bush" -Near Tapes

POLTERGEIST PALM (Skulltones 2008) 7” vinyl

“Some of you have already burned through all the NOTV material out there, so in that case, hurry up and jump on this grenade”- Dusted Magazine

"Naked On The Vague is also battin 1000% & on this 7" for Skulltones, their patented brand of Apocalyptic melancholia fever is runnin at a fever pitch” -Siltblog

SAD SUN (Sabbatical 2007) CD

“Naked On The Vague are thrillingly deep in a woods all their own on Sad Sun – a new EP on rising Melbourne label, Sabbatical Records. No one in the country makes claim to as spectrally macabre or chilly territory as this eerie Sydney duo right now, whose sound has moved from bracing synth punk to a full-blown Gothic expression of cosmic dread on this, only their second release”- Three Thousand Magazine

NAKED ON THE VAGUE (Dual Plover 2006) 7” vinyl

“Sydney based duo with keys, female vocals, bass and drumbox. Unlike some groups with a line-up like this, they stay away from beats and focus on No Wave (or perhaps, 'little band' harshness. Very stark in a black and white kind of way, and really quite hep" -The Wire (UK)

“One of my favorite 7"ers thus far has been this debut from an Oz duo what's called Naked On The Vague. Utilizing mainly rickety keys, fuzz bass & percussive splat as a backdrop-not to mention the to 'n fro vocals-…This one's been gettin alot've play” -Siltblog
